Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Block Media Pty Ltd is the entity responsible for your personal information collected through Coindaily and is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the APPs.

2. Personal information we collect

"Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified, or reasonably identifiable, individual. The personal information we may collect includes:

• Information you give us: your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, and any information you include when you contact us;
• Account information: if you create a Coindaily account, your email address, an optional display name, your password (which is encrypted by our authentication provider and is never visible to us), and account preferences such as your default display currency. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account;
• Information collected automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location and similar usage data, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or political information). Please do not send us sensitive information.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you (for example, when you create an account, subscribe or contact us), automatically through cookies and analytics when you use the Site, and occasionally from third-party service providers such as our analytics or email platform. Where you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google with your authorisation.

4. Why we collect, hold and use it

We collect, hold and use personal information to:

• operate, maintain and improve the Site;
• create and manage your account, authenticate you and keep you securely signed in;
• send you our newsletter and respond to your enquiries;
• understand how the Site is used through aggregated analytics;
• protect the Site, prevent fraud and maintain security; and
• comply with our legal obligations.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, including privacy-respecting analytics, to operate the Site and understand usage. Your browser's local storage is also used to remember preferences such as your AUD/USD display setting and your watchlist; this information stays in your browser and is not sent to us. If you sign in to a Coindaily account, an encrypted session token is also stored in your browser so that you stay logged in. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. 6. Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to:

• service providers who help us run the Site (for example hosting, database, authentication, analytics and email delivery providers). These include Supabase, which provides our account database and authentication and stores account data in its Australian (Sydney) region, and Google, where you choose to sign in with your Google account;
• our professional advisers; and
• government or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Overseas disclosure (APP 8)

We store Coindaily account data (such as your email address and profile) in Australia, in the Sydney (ap-southeast-2) region of our database and authentication provider, Supabase. Supabase Inc is based in the United States and may access this data from overseas to provide and support the service. Some of our other service providers are also located, or store data, outside Australia (for example in the United States or European Union), and if you sign in with Google, Google processes your sign-in overseas. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information may be stored or processed overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs.

8. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, we will stop using your email for marketing and will delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period unless we are required to keep it. If you hold a Coindaily account, you can delete it at any time from your account settings; deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated profile data from our database.

10. Direct marketing and the Spam Act

We only send marketing communications where you have consented. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we will action opt-out requests promptly. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

11. Accessing and correcting your information (APP 12 and 13)

If you have a Coindaily account, you can view and update your email address, password and preferences, or permanently delete your account, at any time from your account settings page. You may also request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@coindaily.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

12. Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first at privacy@coindaily.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

13. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on the Site, and the "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
